Rail link of Dhaka with northern districts snapped

Train communication of Dhaka with the northern region remained suspended following a derailment of a train on Dhaka-Lalmonirhat rail route near rail crossing of Bangabandhu bridge east railway station in the district early hours on Thursday.

Station master Nurul Huda of Bangabandhu bridge east railway station said three bogies and the engine of the Lalmonirhat-bound `Lalmonirhat Express` train from Dhaka veered off the track around 3.45am, halting the train communication of Dhaka with the northern region.

Railway sources said rescue train is on the way to the spot from Dhaka.
