Municipal poll: Re-vote begins at 51 polling centre’s
Voting has begun at 51 polling centres of 19 municipalities across the country on Tuesday.
The balloting was postponed at 51 centres following anomalies and violence on 30 December.
The voting started from at about 8:00am and will continue till 4:00pm without any break.
Of the 51 polling stations, 12 are in Madhabdi, 10 in Chaumuhani of Noakhali, four in Syedpur of Nilphamari, three each in Thakurgaon, Jamalpur and Chandanaish of Chittagong, and two each in Ulipur of Kurigram and Kalkini of Madaripur.
Besides, voting in one polling station was postponed each in Barura of Comilla, Bhaluka of Mymensingh, Kalia of Narail, Kuakata of Patuakhali, Sarishabari of Jamalpur, Nagarkanda of Faridpur, Matlab of Chandpur, Shariatpur, Barguna and Betagi of Barguna, Jessore and Narsingdi.
The re-voting will decide public representatives in seven mayoral posts and 72 councillor posts.
