42th founding anniversary of Islamic Foundation today
Islamic Foundation, Bangladesh (IFB) will observe its 42th founding anniversary in the capital and elsewhere across the country in a befitting manner amid holding different programmes on Thursday.
To mark the founding anniversary of IFB, founded by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975, various programmes have been chalked out, an official spokesman told BSS this evening.
He said the anniversary programmes include holding of milads and special doa mahfils, reciting from the Holy Quran, grand rally of ulema mashaeikhs, imams and Islamic scholars in the capital.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to be present as the chief guest in the grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan at 3:00 pm while Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman will preside over the programme," he said.
Besides, Vice-President of the Masjid al Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Khozim and Imam and Khatib of Masjid an Nabawi Sheikh Dr Abdul Muhsin Bin Muhammed Al Kashim will be present there, said a press release of Islamic Foundation.
Around 1.6 lakh people are expected to arrive in the capital to join the rally tomorrow.
Meanwhile, an intensified security arrangement has been ensured surrounding routes to and from the Suhrawardi Udyan centering tomorrow`s grand rally on the founding anniversary occasion.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah told journalists that an unprecedented security measures were taken to hold the grand rally smoothly and peacefully.
He also called upon the city dwellers not to bring out their private cars as there will be 2,500 additional vehicles to carry the participants of the rally.
The HSC examinees have been requested to come out of their houses for the examination halls having appropriate times in hand considering the traffic management system.
The roads to remain closed will include Shahbagh-Matshya Bhaban Crossing and Shahbagh-TSC-Doyel Chattar, he said.
Apart from the central programme, the district offices of IFB have also drawn elaborate programmes including rallies, children fairs, doa-mhafils and discussions on the day.
