Navy warship rescued 19 workers from Panamanian ship
Nineteen Bangladeshi workers were rescued by the Bangladesh Navy from Panamanian flag-carrier ship as they were stranded for eight days due to rough weather in the Bay of Bengal.
The naval warship `Korotoa` rescued the 19 workers from `MV East Ayutthaya`, an ISPR release said here.
The Panamanian ship anchored adjacent to fairway boy near the Mongla Port in the Bay of Bengal on March 12 and Bangladeshi workers boarded the vessel on March 24 to unload coal.
The navy provided two metric tones of foods to crews of the foreign ship and handed over the rescued Bangladeshi workers to local administration after giving them treatment and food.
