Biman Bangladesh fined for flight delay

National Consumer Rights Protection Department has fined Biman Bangladesh Airlines for delaying flight.

Shaheen Akhter Momtaz, Deputy Director of the department confirmed the matter to Jago News.

He said that Consumer Protection Department fined Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Tuesday with one ticket after an allegation of a pasenger.

Md. Ali Hasan, Director, Biman Bangladesh Airlines said that the flight delayed due to schedule problem on February 5.

“We will give him a Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka return ticket (economic class) without government tax and travel tax after considering his allegation,” he added.

He also said that the passenger can collect his ticket from Mothijheel office of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

The passenger Shafiqul Islam said that he is not satisfied with the fine.

“Fine as a ticket is too light panishment. I just don’t understand the basis on which they fined ”. he said.
