FBCCI president assures diplomats
The political instability and stalemate are hampering economic activities of the country, but it will soon make a way out, assured FBCCI president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed to diplomats of different countries in Bangladesh.
“We have achieved 6% GDP in last decade. When the progress is continuing, violent activities in the name of movement impedes our journey towards a mid-income country. We kept open our factories despite the strike, because we cannot afford the loss we are making by the political parties”, said Akram.
“We got over the natural calamities as a barrier to development. We will overcome the political impediment also”, he added.
Akram Uddin said this on Wednesday noon at an opinion-sharing meeting at a capital’s hotel. US Ambassador Macia Bernicat was present at the meeting along with diplomats of EU, Canada, Australia, China, Japan and India in Bangladesh.
