Masud Shikder, a sub-inspector of Mohammadpur police station was closed for allegedly torturing Bangladesh Bank official Golam Rabby.

Masud has also been withdrawn from the police on Monday.

Earlier, Rabby filed a written complaint to Deputy Police Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker against Masud in this incident.

It is mentionable that, cops led by Masud allegedly tortured Rabby for refusing to pay bribe of Tk 5 lakh in the capital’s Mohammadpur on Saturday.

The law enforcers reportedly threatened him with implicating him in a false narcotics case.

Rabbi, 28, an assistant director of Bangladesh Bank, alleged that he was returning to his Kalyanpur home from a relative’s house on Taj Mahal Road around 11:00pm on Saturday.
