NASA Space Apps Challenge in Bangladesh on April 29, 30

Bangladesh chapter of NASA Space Apps Challenge-2017 will be held on April 29 and 30 like different countries across the globe.

The competition will take place in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur, Khulna and Barisal simultaneously as in more than 300 cities of other countries.

“Winners of regional competitions will get chance of participation in the final round of the Space Apps Challenge,” said Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) President Mustafa Jabber in a press conference today at BASIS office.

Like the previous edition, BASIS is organizing the Bangladesh chapter of the third edition of the NASA Space Apps Challenge-2017.

US Space agency NASA has organized the World’s Largest Hackathons.

Mentioning that Bangladesh has the scope to showcase its ability through the international competition, Mustafa Jabber said: “We will find out the best projects by necessary mentoring and evaluation.”

He hoped Bangladeshi young inventors become world champion demonstrating their innovations.

Daffodil Group Chairman Sabur Khan, BASIA Director Riad S A Hossain, Bangladesh Innovation Forum Founder Ariful Hasan Opu, Devine IT Founder Iqbal Ahmed Fakhrul Hasan, IUB Associate Professor M Ashraful Amin and DIU Software Engineering Department Head Professor Dr Touhid Bhuiyan, among others, also spoke on the occasion.

Riad S A Hossain said they would organize camps in over 100 universities from where 50 teams would be selected.

“Later, five teams would be finalized in five categories through the final camp in Dhaka,” he added.
