JS committee seeks report on progress of Leather Industrial Park
The parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of industries in a meeting today recommended the ministry to take steps to submit a detailed report on the overall development of Leather Industrial Park within the next 10 days.
Committee chairman Omar Faruq Chowdhury presided over the meeting held at the Sangsad Bhaban. Committee members Md Abdur Razzak and Rahim Ullah attended it, said a press release.
The meeting discussed the progress of work and problems of the Leather Industrial Park project under Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC). It recommended the ministry to take steps to submit report to it within the next 10 days on sector-wise allocation, work progress and bill-payments.
The committee also recommended taking legal action against the construction firm if it fails to complete the work of the project as per the scheduled time.
It also recommended the ministry to take steps to ensure all utility services for plat owners.
