12 jhoot godowns gutted in Mirpur

A total of 12 jhoot godown (ware house of garment wastage) was burnt due to devastating fire at Mirpur jhoot patti on Thursday night.

The fire broke out inside a jhoot godown at Mirpur Block-c, Section-10 around 12.18am last night and it engulfed all the 12 godowns within few seconds, said fire service official source here today.

The reason of the fire was not immediately known.

The fire burnt all the jhoot, pieces of clothes, stockpiled at the twelve godowns-six semi-paka and six kutcha houses-located at Mirpur block-c, section-10.

A total of 12 fire fighting units from Mirpur, Tejgaon, Kurmitola and Gulistan Head quarters immediately rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control within 30 minutes, said the official.
