PM opens book fair, photography exhibition at Tungipara

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday inaugurated a book fair and a photography exhibition on Bangabanadhu on the occasion of 98th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The premier opened the book fair, and the photography exhibition titled “Khoka Theke Bangabandhu” at Bangabandhu Mausoleum Complex.

Later, Sheikh Hasina went round different stalls of the book fair, and witnessed rare photos on Bangabandhu that have been put on display at the photography exhibition.

Earlier, the prime minister placed wreaths at the mazar of the Father of the Nation here this morning on the occasion of his 98th birthday.

Sheikh Hasina, elder daughter of Bangabandhu, flew to her ancestral home Tungipara after placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road No 32 in the capital.

The birthday of Bangabandhu is being observed across the country today as the National Children’s Day.
