March on Independence Day to raise funds for War Museum building

Liberation War Museum in association with a youth organization, Avijatree, will jointly organize a march from Central Shaheed Minar to National Memorial to raise fund for building a permanent complex of the museum at city’s Agargaon.

The march will start from Central Shaheed Minar around 6am on the Independence day (26th march).

The announcement came from a joint press conference organized by Avijatree and Liberation War Museum held at the museum conference room on Wednesday.

Speaking at the conference, Nishat Mozumder, first Bangladeshi women to reach the summit of Mount Everest, said that Avijatree has been organizing the march for last four years.

She said that last year the organization took an initiative to raise fund for building the museum’s own complex.

“The march is not a competition. It’s a matter of feelings, honor and love,” he said.

People can join the fundraiser event by donating Tk 500. They can join it at any of the several points on the 18 miles route.

Trustees - Tariq Ali, and Mofidul Hoque, bird specialist Inam Al Haque, among others, were present.
