4 suspects in double murder case killed

Four suspects in double murder case were killed in an alleged gunfight with police at Nurpur intersection of Meherpur sadar upazila in the wee hours of Tuesday.

In this incident, six police members were injured.

The deceased are as Romesh, 24, Saddam Hossain, 25, Sohag, 27 and Kanon, 25 of the same upazila.

The injured policemen are Ahsan Habib, Assistant Police Superintendent, Tariq Aziz, Sub Inspector, Rafiqul Islam, Sub Inspector and constables Abdul Hannan, Abdul Wahab, Mithun Sarker and Shahidul Islam.

“It is suspected that the deceased were involved in double murder of Sonapur village”, said Abdullah Al Mahmud, Additional Police Superintendent.
