Flyover girder collapse kills 1 in capital

A man was killed and two others were injured as a girder of Malibagh-Mouchak-Mogbazar flyover collapsed near Malibagh rail gate in the capital in the wee hours of Monday.

The deceased is Shopon, an employee of local furniture shop, hailing from Kishoreganj.

The injured men are Polash, an engineer of Toma construction and a pedestrian Nurunnobi, 40.

Confirming the matter to Jagonews24.com, Ali Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, told that the girder suddenly slipped while it was lifted by a crane around 2am, leaving two people seriously injured.
