Two killed, 35 injured in Kushtia road crash

At least two people were killed and 35 others injured in a road accident at Satmaile Saheb Nagar area on Kushtia-Bheramara highway in Mirpur upzila of the district early today.

The deceased were identified as Omad Ali, 45, and Abdul Mazid, 60.

Kushtia Highway police camp sub inspector(SI) Abdul Jabbar said the accident occurred when the bus reached in the area around 4am.The driver of the vehicle lost control over the steering and fell it into a roadside ditch killing Omad Ali and Abdul Aziz on the spot and leaving 35 others injured, he added.

The bodies were sent to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.

The injured were admitted to Kushtia General Hospital, police said.
