Two police men identified over torching Gaibandha Saontal houses

Police in its probe over torching of Saontal houses in Gobindaganj of Gaibandha has identified two of its men, who were taking part in that heinous act on November 6, 2016.

Police submitted the report today before the High Court, saying they have found involvement of sub-inspector Mahbub Rahman of Gaibandha detective branch (DB) and constable Md Sazzad Hossain of Gaibandha police lines in that torching incident in their primary investigation.

Deputy attorney general Motahar Hossain Sazu submitted the report before the High Court division bench comprising Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath.

In the report, police said they have already suspended the duo and withdrawn 58 other policemen over the incident. The then SP has also been transferred to Khagrachhari.

The High Court on February 7 had ordered to withdraw superintendant of Gaibandha police for failing to comply with court`s order over torching Saontal houses and also withdraw policemen those were on duty in Changari area in Gobindaganj on that day.
