BCL 68th anniversary being observed today
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has celebrated its 68th founding anniversary amid different programmes on Monday.
To mark the day, BCL has chalked out a three-day programme’s.
On January 5, voluntary blood donation campaign will be held on the premises of Bat-tala in front of Dhaka University Arts Faculty Building at 10am.
Winter cloths will be distributed among destitute on the premises of Swoparjito Swadhinta sculpture on DU campus at 5pm on January 6.
On January 7, distribution of ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’ (Oshamapta Atmajiboni), an autobiography of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be held and ‘pathchakra’, group-study, will be inaugurated at Teacher-Student Centre on the university campus.
In the long journey of BCL, its leaders and workers played the role of forerunners in the historic Language Movement in 1952, victory of the Jukta Front in the election in 1954, the anti-Ayub (martial law) movement in 1958, the education movement in 1962, the six-point movement in 1966, the mass upsurge in 1969, the landslide victory of Awami League in the national polls in 1970 and the War of Liberation in 1971.
