Vegetable fair to start Jan 17 in Dhaka

A three day long National Vegetable Fair 2016 will be held in capital with more than two hundreds varieties of vegetables.

This fair, to be organized by agriculture ministry, will start on 17 January and continue till 19 January.

Agricultural Extension Department director General Mohammad Hamidur Rahman told that, one of the main objectives of the fair is to create awareness about producing and consuming vegetables.

Sources from horticulture wing of Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) that more than 110 types of common vegetables are found across the country.

But besides these there are other uncommon vegetables that have been cultivated and have different names in different places.

These kinds of vegetables will be also showcased in the fair.
