Former chief engineer of RAJUK held over graft charge
Former Chief Engineer of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (RAJUK) Md Emdadul Islam was arrested from the city`s Banani area on Thursday morning in a graft case filed against him on charges of acquiring illegal wealth and concealing information of assets.
A team of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested Emdadul from his residence at Banani this morning, deputy director (public relations) of the commission Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee said.
Emdadul was taken to the commission headquarters around 11 this morning, he added.
Deputy assistant director Saiduzzaman of the ACC filed the case on February 23 with Ramna Police Station on charges acquiring illegal wealth beyond known sources of income of Taka 87 lakh and hiding information of assets of Taka 1.18 crore.
