Arrest order for 35 BNP men

A Dhaka court on Thursday issued arrest warrant against 35 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in a case filed with Paltan Police Station under Explosive Substances Act in the capital in 2015.

After accepting charges against them, Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla of Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court issued the warrant showing them fugitive.

The accused include: Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Barkatullah Bulu, Selima Rahman, Faruk Kamal Khan, Azizul Bari Helal and Mir Sarafat Ali Safu.

According to the prosecution, a group of BNP-led 20-party alliance activists and supporters brought out a procession and set fire to a taxicab in front of Rokeya Mansion in the city’s Purana Paltan area around 7:45pm on Jan 24, 2015.
