Govt. to modernize FDC: Inu
Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu today said the government has undertaken a project to modernize and expand Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).
"The project of modernization and expansion of the BFDC at a cost of Taka 58.60 crore was approved by the ECNEC," the minister said while replying to a tabled question from treasury bench member M Shamsul Haque Tuku of Pabna-1 in the Jatiya Sangsad.
Under the project, the government has procured printing machines, colour analyzer machines, digital cameras, digital audio dubbing, mixing and re-recording, digital audio optical transfer machines and various lights, Inu said.
He informed the House that the BFDC is now capable of providing required services to film producers for making digital cinemas.
Besides, the government has been working for repair, renovation and beautification of different floors of the BFDC, adding, "The government has installed 35 CC (close circuit) cameras for ensuring security at the BFDC, the minister said.
Meanwhile, the government has undertaken another project to build a global standard `Bangabandhu Film City` on 105 acres of land in Kaliakoir upazila, he said.
