Bangladeshi man stabbed to death in New York
A Bangladeshi man was stabbed to death by a landlord in the Bronx, a borough in northeastern New York City of US.
The victim was identified as Jakir Khan, Owner of the Parkchester Real Estate New York, Inc, hailing from Sylhet.
According to the news portal ABC7NY, it was just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when police responded to the scene in front of a building on Logan Avenue in the Throgs Neck section after someone called 911.
Police found the 44-year-old tenant with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The 51-year-old landlord was taken into custody by police. Charges are pending against him.
Another news portal NBC New York reports, law enforcement sources say the victim was a tenant who had been living in an apartment inside the landlord’s home for the last nine months, promising to buy the place but not paying the rent.
When the landlord confronted him about it, the two got into an argument, and the landlord began stabbing the victim in front of his 12-year-old son, according to a family friend of the victim.
