Kader prime mastermind of MP Liton murder: cops

Former lawmaker and Jatiya Party’s leader Abdul Kader Khan is the prime accused of the murder of Gaibandha-1 Awami League MP Manzurul Islam Liton, claimed police.

Khandaker Golam Faruque, Rangpur Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police disclosed the matter at a press conference at Gaibandha DC office at 10.15am on Wednesday.

The former JP lawmaker was arrested in Bogra on Tuesday over suspicion in the murder of Gaibandha-1 lawmaker from the ruling Awami League, Liton.

The arrest was made within a day after the inspector general of police claimed that Liton’s killers had been identified.

On 31 December last year, some assailants shot MP Manzurul Islam Liton to death at his home in Masterpara of Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha.
