1 gunned down in Chittagong clash

One person was gunned down in a clash between the supporters of two councilor’s candidate at 11am on Wednesday in Chittagong.

The incident took place at Hostel play ground near at Satkania Government College polling center.

The deceased was identified as Nurul Amin, 40, son of Abdur Rahim, of 9 no. ward of the municipal.

According to source, the supporters of councilor candidate Mojammel Haque locked in a clash with the activists of councilor candidate Monirul Islam. During this time Nurul Amin sustained bullet hit injury and died on the way to Hospital.

Returning Official and Upazila Nirbahi OfficerMohammad Ullah told Jagonews24.com that, we informed about the incident. But the vote casting is running peacefully, he added.

The voting to 234 municipalities is being held from 8am and will continue till 4pm.
