3 NU officials arrested over graft charges

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) arrested three officials of National University (NU) over graft charges.

They are Proctor and Deputy Registrar AHM Tayhid Zaman, Assistant Registrar Md Siddikur Rahman and Assistant Director Md Mofazzal Hossain.

A team led by Deputy Director Morshedul Alam arrested them from different parts in the capital early Monday.

In 2012, a person filed a case against them with a local police station for allegedly causing a loss of about Tk 1.04 crore to the government.

According to the case statement, the accused in collusion with each other provided Selection Grade to a number of NU officials violating government rules, which caused a loss of public money of Tk 1.04 crore.
