Jealousy the motive behind Bangladeshi’s death: Malaysian cops
Thursday started out like any typical work day for a group of foreign workers at a construction site, until they stumbled upon the severed head of a colleague.
Shocked, they looked up to see his body dangling from scaffol¬ding.
Police believe the victim had been decapitated and then flung off the 11th floor of the apartment building near Jeram that was under construction.
He was apparently killed with a sword by a 32-year-old Bangladeshi subcontractor. The motive was jealousy because the victim was well liked by their employer, according to police.
Kuala Selangor OCPD Supt Rus¬lan Abdullah said the gruesome find happened between 3.30pm and 4.40pm.
“The workers told police they found a human head on the ground and the body was hanging from scaffolding on the 10th floor of the uncompleted building,” he said.
“The victim was a 29-year-old Bangladeshi subcontractor who was working on the project.”
He said the other Bangladeshi subcontractor, who had been there for two years, fled but was caught by police.
“We arrested him early this morning,” said Supt Ruslan yesterday. “He has been remanded for seven days.”
