Ex-RAJUK chief, Partex group director arrested

A former chairman of Rajdhani Unnayan Katripakhkha (RAJUK) Ikbal Uddin Chowdhury and Partex group director Shawkat Aziz have been arrested in a case filed for allocation of plot through irregularities.

Iqbal was arrested from Paribagh while Shawkat was arrested from the capital’s Gulshan area on Thursday.

They were arrested in a case which filed on Wednesday with Motijheel Police Station against eight people, including Iqbal and Shawkat, for allegedly allocating two plots of RAJUK violating rules.

According to the case statement, the former RAJUK chairman and other accused in collusion with each other allocated two plots of RAJUK for Shawkat and Ashfaq Aziz during 2001-04, violating rules for their personal grain.
