RAJUK to approve building design in 60 days: minister
Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) would take 60 days to approve the design for constructing a building instead of 267 days it takes now.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharaf Hossain said this when chairman of investment development authority (IDA) Kazi M Aminul Islam called on him at his office here today.
As part of the government plan, the housing minister said, "We have taken different programmes for accelerating development process to make an investment friendly environment."
He said there is no alternative to making investment process easier and creating an investment friendly environment to build a developed country. The housing minister assured him of providing all out cooperation to different departments under his ministry for making investment process easier.
The IDA chairman said the help desks would open at all regional offices of RAJUK including its headquarters in the capital soon. He said help desks would also open at Chiitangong Development Authority (CDA), Khulna Development Authority (KDA) and Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) in phases.
Islam said that the main objective of the help desk is to provide assistance for investors to get design approval for construction within the stipulated time.
A task force would be formed to supervise the help desks reform works as well as to make the implementation process easier, he said and added that the RAJUK and the IDA would sign an agreement in this respect very soon.
Housing and Public Works Secretary M Shahid Ullah Khondokar and RAJUK chairman M Bazlul Karim Chowdhury were present during the meeting.
