US will stand by Bangladesh on Rohingya issue
US ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat said that the United States would stand by Bangladesh to resolve Rohingya crisis.
She said this while talking to journalists after visiting Leda Rohingya camp in Teknaf upazilas of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
Bernicat said, “My country is very cordial to bring a permanent solution to Rohingya crisis and that’s why I repeatedly visit the camps.”
The envoy visited the unregistered Rohingya refugee camp at Leda village in Hnila union at 10am, where she talked with NGO officials and the Rohingyas who fled Myanmar after being allegedly persecuted by military force and Buddhists.
BGB commander L. C. Md. Abu Zar Al Zahid, deputy commander Major Abu Rasel Siddque, Additional Superintendent of Police Chaulau Marma, UNO Md. Shafiul Alam and IOM official Hazera Khanom were with the ambassador during her visit.
