Govt. to introduce e-filing in prison department

The government will introduce e-filing system in prison department to ease the burden of paper and to make the process digital.

The officials and officers of the department get training on e-filing under the Access of Information (a2i) project of Prime Minister Office, the prison department source said.

After completion of the training, e-filing system will be initially launched to transfer file from the department to Prime Minister Office and Ministry of Home Affairs.

Assistant Inspector General of prisons (Administration) Md. Abdullah Al Mamun told Jagonews24.com that two officials of prison department had got training on e-filing in last December.

They are experimenting how the system will work, he said.

A total of 28 more officials including five (regular) and four (deputation) first class officers, four second class officers and 15 office staffs of the prison department will get training on e-filing.

The government will gradually expand the system to all prisons across the country, added AIG prisons Al Mamun.
