Tight security for Eid-e-Miladunnabi, Christmas
Stringent security measures have been beefed up across the country for peaceful observance of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi and the Christmas Day, two festivals of the Muslim and Christian communities, on Friday.
"Tight security arrangements were made across the country to ensure that the people celebrate the Eid-e-Miladunnabi and the Christmas peacefully and without any unwanted incidents," said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
Law enforcement agencies have been asked to conduct foot patrolling for peaceful celebration of the two events and to fend off any kind of subversive activities, he said, adding that additional forces will be deployed in the capital as well as across the country to ensure security on December 25.
Special security arrangements have been taken in churches and Christian areas across the country with deployment of law enforcers in large numbers. All the churches have been brought under the CCTV (closed circuit camera television), metal detector and archway coverage.
Plain clothes police personnel along with uniformed ones have also been working to make the security foolproof.
Besides, check posts have been set up at the strategic points across the country to avert any untoward incident. The check posts are now being monitored by the law enforcers round the clock.
