Internet speed will remain slow till Jan 30

The Internet speed in the country will remain slow till January 30 due to the maintenance work of the submarine cable, said sources of Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB).

According to source, the subscribers of ISP operators depended on International Terrestrial Cable (ITC) have been facing problem to browse different websites for some days as the internet speed is very slow.

ITC operators in Bangladesh imported bandwidth from India. The submarine communications cable system between India and France, have been ineffective that caused slow internet speed in Bangladesh.

India is connected with Singapore through O2O submarine telecommunication cable owned by Airtel India. The cable has been ineffective since December 13, 2016 as it was cut off almost 40 kilometers far away from the sea bank of Chennai.
