Home Ministry split into two divisions

The government has split home ministry into two divisions for facilitating work. The divisions are public security and security services.

Cabinet Division on Thursday published a gazette notification in this regard.

The Prime Minister restructured the ministry in line with the Rules of Business, reads the notification.

Kamal Uddin Ahmed is presently discharging as the secretary of the ministry. Now the government will appoint two secretaries for the separate divisions.

The Public Security Division will handle Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, Bangladesh Coast Guard, Investigation agencies, and International Crimes Tribunal.

The Security Services Division will handle fire-service, prisons, narcotics department, immigration and passports, and National Telecommunication Monitoring Cell.
