6 die on Ijtema ground
Six devotees died on the ground of Biswa Ijtema now underway in Tongi of Gazipur early today and the day before.
The deceased were identified as Babul Mia, 60, of Feni, Janu Fakir, 70, of Tangail, Saheb Ali, 35, of Manikganj, Fazlul Haque, 56, of village Marua under Nandail upazila in Mymensingh, Md Hossain Ali, 65, of Cox’s Bazar, and Abdus Sattar, 60, of Satkhira sadar.
All of them died of old age complications and due to illness.
Local devotees from 17 districts are taking part in the first phase congregation.
The second phase will be held on January 20-22.
