Railway to procure 120 passenger carriages from India

Bangladesh railway is going to procure 120 passenger carriage from India. An Agreement was signed between RITES Limited, India and Bangladesh Railways on January 21, 2015 for procurement of 120 Broad Gauge Passenger Carriages from India under the Indian Line of Credit. 

The carriages will start arriving in Bangladesh from July 2015 and the delivery will be completed in two years.

Mr. Md. Mazibul Hoque, MP, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Mr. Pankaj Saran, High Commissioner of India in Bangladesh and Mr. Md. Munsur Ali Sikder ndc, Secretary, Ministry of Railways were present at the signing ceremony of the Contract Agreement along with officers of Bangladesh Railway, RITES Ltd and other Ministries of Government of Bangladesh.
