7 robbers injured in clash with cops

At least seven dacoits were injured in a clash with policemen in Habiganj on Thursday night.

Police also detained five dacoits after the clash that took place around 10.00pm on Habiganj-Nasratpur bypass road.

The detainees were identified as Sayed, Fazar Ali, Liton, Shofik and Rasel.

According to police, they had information that a gang numbering 10-12 dacoits was planning to commit robbery at night, and a team of police conducted a drive in the area.

Sensing the presence of policemen, dacoits opened fire, forcing the policemen to back fire that triggered a clash.

Police held five injured dacoits from the spot while others managed to flee from the spot.
