MP Liton murder: Ex-Upazila Vice Chairman shown arrested

A former Vice Chairman of Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha has been shown arrested in connection with the district’s Awami League lawmaker Manzurul Islam Liton murder case on Sunday.

Md. Ahsan Habib Masud, 42, who was also the vice-president of Awami Swechasebak League of Sundarganj upazila unit, was held from his residence in Sundarganj municipality area on Friday morning.

Confirming the matter to Jagonews24.com, Abu Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman, Officer-in-charge of Sundarganj Police Station told that, they produced him before a court in the district at noon.

A total of 21 people including the former Upazila vice-chairman were detained and shown arrested in the case so far.

It is mentionable that, lawmaker Liton was killed by unknown assailants at his home in the upazila on December 31, 2016.
