Fundamentalist elements kill Liton in a planed way: Quader
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said that fundamentalist elements have killed lawmaker Monjurul Islam Liton in a planned way.
He made this remark at a press briefing after the presidium meeting of the party at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina`s political office at Dhanmodi here this afternoon.
"Initially, we observed that it`s a cowardice incident committed by the fundamentalist elements. The vested elements would have to pay high price for their misdeeds," Quader said.
He termed the killing as a "barbaric attack" that took place when the people of the country are busy with celebration of the English New Year.
"We should resist those who are trying to catch fish in troubled water by giving shelter to the killers. They must be defeated so that no vested elements could try to halt the ongoing development works in the country," Quader observed.
