AL suspends 40 rebel aspirants
Ruling Awami League has temporarily suspended its forty rebel candidates in the upcoming municipal elections.
The rebels would get letters about their suspension on Monday. The next working committee the party would take final decision about the suspension order.
Party joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Sunday disclosed this at a press conference at AL president`s Dhanmondi office in the capital.
According to sources, the ruling party expelled about 40 candidates as they are still in the election battle violating party directives. The sources further said around 60 rebels to quit the race.
