Voting in districts council polls ends
Voting in the districts council polls successfully ended on Wednesday.
The vote casting began from 9am and it continued till 2pm in 60 out of 64 administrative districts as the elections excluded the three hill districts.
The authorities suspended voting for the chairman and three member posts in Bogra district and two polling centres in Kurigram district following separate High Court orders.
Voting for the chairman post in Kushtia is postponed as a case remains pending with the High Court over cancellation of nomination paper of a chairman candidate.
So far 22 out of 61 chairmen in as many districts council have been elected uncontested.
