Action if pressure to withdraw candidature: EC

Election Commissioner Brigadier General Jabed Ali (Retd) on Sunday said, action will be taken if any rebel candidates face threat or pressure to withdraw their candidature ahead of municipality polls.

He made the warning while addressing media at Election Commission Office in capital`s Agargaon.

“if any rebel candidates file written complaint to EC then, of course the Election Commission will take legal action” he added.

Election Commissioner also said that according to the rules of election commission, no political parties can nominate one more candidates in municipality polls.
