Parliament passes condolence proposal

Fifth session of the 10th Parliament on Monday passed condolence proposal on demise of prominent personalities including some former member of parliaments. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury placed the proposal.

Former Chief Justice Mostafa Kamal, former advisor of caretaker government Anwarul Iqbal, justice Golam Rasul, genome scientist Maksudul Alam, freedom fighter and musician Gobinda Haldar, eminent painter Kaiyum Chowdhury, senior journalist Jaglul Ahmed Chowdhury, actor Khalilullah Khan, freedom fighter and filmmaker Chashi Nazrul Islam and author Ekhlasuddin Ahmed was remembered through the condolence proposal, standing silence and prayer.

President Abdul Hamid summoned the Parliament session on 31st December, last year. The session started at 4.15 pm with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury in the chair.
