Truck kills journo in capital

A journalist was killed in a road accident in Kakrail area of capital on Sunday early.

The deceased is Abdullah al Faruk, 50, former deputy-editor of Dainik Kaler Kantho.

According to family, Abdullah Faruk sustained injuries after being hit by a truck while crossing the road adjacent to Rajmoni cinema hall in Kakrail area around 1:00am.

Later, an auto-rickshaw driver, Anwar Hossian, rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Being informed, relatives shifted him to Square Hospital in city where he succumbed to his injuries.

Quoting doctor, brother-in-law of the deceased Akhlak Rahman confirmed the death news of Abdullah Faruk to journalist.
