National anthem in million voices

Calling for battling radicalism, the National Victory Day Celebration Committee has announced a programme for singing the national anthem in million voices on Dec 16.

The anthem will be sung across Bangladesh at 4:31pm on the Victory Day, simultaneously with the central programme at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka.

The programme was announced by Imran Sarker, Member Secretary of the committee, at a press conference at Shahbagh on Friday morning.

‘The barbaric Pakistan army had surrendered at 4:31pm on Dec 16 in 1971,’ he read out from a prepared statement, explaining the significance of the time.
