International Human Rights Day tomorrow

International Human Rights Day will be celebrated Thursday across the world.

Sixty-seven years ago, nations from across the world came together to proclaim that every individual, no matter where he or she lives, has fundamental rights that deserve protection.

Human Rights Day is celebrated annually across the world on 10 December every year. International Human Rights Day is an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to further the goal of equality and fairness for all people in the world.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages marking the day.

In Bangladesh also, the day will be celebrated with due manner. On this occasion, various programmes will be organized across the country.

Bangladesh Human Rights Foundation will organize a rally at 9am on the day from Central Shaheed Minar to Jatiya Press Club. Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Professor ASM Arefin Siddiq will attend it as the chief guest.

SAARC Human Rights Foundation will organize a discussion at Jatiya Press Club at 10am. Food Minister Advocate Kamrul Islam will attend as the chief guest.

Bangladesh Human Rights Commission will observe the day by holding different programmes across the country. Marking the day, the commission will form a human chain in front of Jatiya Press club marking the day. It will organize a seminar titled "Our Laws" at Moitree auditorium here tomorrow afternoon.

Besides, Bangladesh Labor Welfare Foundation, Human Rights Review Society and Save Human Peace Organization Bangladesh will observe the day by holding separate programmes.
