PM to inaugurate construction of Padma Bridge Dec 12: Quader
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the construction work of Padma Bridge on December 12, said Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
The minister said this while visiting Mawa in Munshiganj on Wednesday morning.
Obaidul Quader also said the government has overcome the big challenge in inaugurating the main construction work of Padma Bridge.
This bridge was a dream to the people of the Southern districts of Bangladesh. Now, their dreams have come true.
When all the financial donors including World Bank showed their back to this project, it became a great challenge for the government to undertake a huge project like this. After overtaking all problems, the construction work of Padma Bridge started with government`s internal fund, he added.
Before, Obaidul Quader attended a conference in the project service area of Dogachi at Mawa with the high officials.
Sagufta Yeasmin Emily, MP, Fazilatunnes Indira, MP, project director Md. Shafiqul Islam, chief executive Dewan Abdul Quader, Munshiganj SP Biplab Bijay Talukder, District Awami League Secretary Md. Lutfar Rahman and other officials were also attended the conference.
