2 dacoits killed in Faridpur ‘gunfight’ with police
Police claimed that two suspected dacoits were killed in a shootout between two groups at Piarpur area of Faridpur Sadar Upazila at around 1am on Thursday.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. Police recovered a pistol, two round bullets and eight hand bombs from their possession.
Nazimuddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Faridpur Kotwali Police Station, two groups of dacoit gang locked into a gunfight over establishing the supremacy in the area.
Hearing the news police rushed to the spot and opened fire in the air. Later police recovered two injured dacoits and sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared dead, he added.
