Padma Bridge approach road opens in January
The construction work of Padma Bridge, the longest bridge in Bangladesh, is going on full swing. The bridge’ approach road construction is almost complete. If everything goes well, the road will be opened for all in upcoming January.
The Project Director Shafikul Islam confirmed this to jagonews24.com.
He said that the Maoa part of the road is complete but the work in Jajira part is going on. He, however, said that the Jajira part will also be completed by this December.
The project director said that after completion of the two parts, 8 km road will be opened for all in the first week of January.
“Our decision is final in this regard”, he said.
On Monday, Jagonews24.com team found that the construction works are going on in full swing. People also expressed their enthusiasm.
“We are very happy,” said bus driver Abdur Rahim told jagonews24.com.
“I used to think that government would not complete the Padma bridge. Now when I see the construction work, I under I was wrong. This will be very helpful for us,” he said.
The Tk 28,793.38 crore Padma bridge is expected to be completed by December 2018.
