EC scarps 166 mayoral nominations

Election Commission has scraped 166 nominations papers of mayoral aspirants across the country on upcoming municipality polls.

Apart from 571 nomination papers of general councilor aspirant and 156 in preserved councilor was also rejected due to different inexpediency. 

The disqualified aspirants will be able to appeal within three days in this regard.

Confirming the matter Secretary of Election Commission Sirajul Islam told Jagonews24.com that, the officials of EC sent the information about the rejected nomination papers from root level via CMS. 

It is mentionable that, the Election Commission has announced Dec 30 as the poll date for 236 municipalities.
