Ijtema ends seeking peace for Muslim world
Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest Muslim congregation after Hajj, ended for the year with Akheri Munazat (the final prayer) Sunday. Devotees sought peace and prosperity for Muslim world in the mass prayer on the bank of the river Turag.
Mawlana Mohammad Saa’d from India is supposed to conduct the prayer. Starting at 11.20 am the prayer continued for 34 minutes. Thousands of Muslims including 4,574 foreing devotees from 88 countries put their hand together for the final prayer of Ijtema.
Tablig Jamat`s Bishwa Ijtema was held in two parts this year. First part was held from January 9 to January 11. Second part of it started on Friday with preaching of Islamist scholars and going to end Sunday with the final prayer.
